All it Takes Is One…

Eli had a successful venture in trick or treating on Saturday night. This year he actually “got it.” Totally! Was all about trying each house, regardless of the lights being on/off, anyone begin home, etc. He has a small bag, and filled it up in about 15 houses. Plenty.

One of the things he LOVES is candy corn. Got that from me. So, last night, I allowed him to have about 10 candy corns as a treat. All was good until the last one. He put it in his mouth, and swallowed without chewing it well. At first, I thought all was ok, until he swallowed hard, and began to cry. He was sitting on Jay’s lap so, I tried to verbally comfort him, while Jay patted his back.

Then it happened.

Eli, in one breath, gagged and vomited all over Jay!!! It was horrific the amount of crap that came out of that kid. Now, he didn’t have too many candy corns at all. However, just an hour earlier, he had french fries, chicken and some of Jay’s lasagna. All of that came back in a flood of orange, chunked madness.

I got up, got two dish towels. One I used to get Eli and the other I just handed to Jay. I removed Eli from Jay and took him to the bathroom to begin the clean up. Poor Eli was just crying, begin scared, I’m sure, of what had just occurred. Here’s the best part… Jay comes in and has successfully removed his clothes. However, he can’t seem to get the funk and smell off his face! Yep, Eli got him right in the face. Jay said it was all he could do not to vomit himself.

I had to laugh as I watched them both rinsing their mouths at the sink. I believe all have recovered, but I’m betting it will be a while before either of them get a candy corn again.
